T-Birds Lounge - Warm Springs, Las Vegas

A great local bar location with cheap food and nice servers. We arrived around 10 and they were empty in the dining area. The server was so friendly and greeted each patron like she new them, most of the rig upsets she most likely did.

My mom and I ordered some breakfast and prices were beyond reasonable. My omelet was made to order and was good.

Service with a smile and great prices while watching the games, we'll likely be back soon to partake in more of the bar area as well.

Rolling Fusion - Las Vegas Food Truck

While attending the All American Foodie Fest we had the opportunity to try Rolling Fusion.

My fella and I tried the Thai fried chicken tacos. They were good. Small, but good. The chicken had good flavor. They were a little on the dry side and I had hoped for more of a coconut flavor. If I ever tried them again I'd likely ask for more sauce to use as a dip.

The service was friendly and we didn't have to wait long for our food like other food trucks we have tried in the past.

Mastrioni's - Las Vegas

Seafood is the name of the game here at Mastrioni's. We dined here for lunch during a work lunch and I made reservations ahead of time. We arrived early and there was no wait but ten restaurant filled up quickly.

Despite arriving before the crowd we were a little disappointed to get very little attention there at first. Drinks, menus and bread were slow to come.  Once we got the attention of our waiter it was still slow to get appetizers and entrees ordered but we were happy to indulge in bread as we waited.

Our entire table ordered fish dishes. I went with the halibut piccata and we shared the bruschetta as an appetizer. The bruschetta had a huge amount of tomato. It was delicious. The fish was well prepared. I enjoyed everything about my meal.

The service was lackluster but I am still excited to come back and try them again.

Chada Street - Las Vegas

A week after my visit to Chada Street, I'm still wavering between three and four stars. Looking back at all the food our group of seven was able to try, there were a couple of standouts but for the most part most of the dishes were just incredibly solid.

We started our meal with the blue pea limenade which was refreshing and a fun novelty with the color-changing aspect of the drink. I highly recommend starting with this if you visit. My favorite dishes from the meal were the crab fried rice, northern style sausage, crab curry and the larb. The sausage was exceptional as it was incredibly spicy and flavorful. The crab curry had excellent flavor although it didn't come with many noodles to absorb all the sauce, so I'd recommend ordering extra or a side of rice to assist. I don't typically enjoy ground meat, but since we had all heard great things about Chada's larb, I admit I did really enjoy the flavors.

We ordered a number of desserts as well and although they serve two different versions of one of my favorite desserts, my favorite was the warm bread cubes with pandan custard. We all noted it's resemblance to ectolasm, but it was tasty and unique.

The rest of the dishes were all good, but didn't leave as memorable an impression on me. Service was friendly albeit a little forgetful. The pacing of the dishes was a little quicker than we would have preferred and actually had to ask the server to slow down the dishes to allow us time to eat the first rounds before the next arrived.

The restaurant is very nice and I'm interested in trying more dishes on a future visit.

Cream - Downtown Summerlin

Looking for dessert after an afternoon at Downtown Summerlin, we ended up at Cream for some ice cream and cookies.

I ordered a cookie sandwich with macadamia nut cookies and coconut ice cream. They warm the cookie which is a nice touch but I didn't care for any of the flavors. The cookies tasted like a regular store bought cookie and be ice cream had an artificial flavor I didn't enjoy. I took a few bites and decided to toss it.

For the price I don't see myself coming back with so many better dessert options around town.

Oming's Kitchen Food Truck - Las Vegas

I've had my eye on Oming's Kitchen for a while but I rarely get a chance or make much effort to locate food trucks to try. I was able to score some free tickets for the Great American Foodie Fedt from Oming's and I was excited to finally give them a try.

My fella and I ordered the pork belly and lumpia bowl over rice. The food was really nice. The pork belly had a great flavor and was cooked well. Perfectly charred and the lumpia was delicious as well. The rice wasn't great. It was a little mushy so I skipped most of this part of the bowl.

This was probably the best food truck we tried during our entire visit to Foodie Fest.

Truffles n Bacon - Henderson

I rarely find myself in the area but when I do I always attempt to try a new spot. Having had Truffles N Bacon in my radar for a while I'm glad to finally gave them a try.

We arrived around 9am and we were among the first group to arrive. As we were seated the restaurant got busier and busier. My mom and I took quite some time to decide what to order since everything on the menu sounded amazing. I ordered the 3x3x3 which is there eggs, three slices of bacon and three slices of French toast with a side of hash browns. My mom got the green hulk. Our entrees arrived quickly and as we anticipated everything was superb. Fresh and tasty.

The owners were so sweet and attentive and my mom and I had had a delicious breakfast. I am excited to come back and try more of the menu.

Items sampled: green hulk and 3x3x3

Earl of Sandwich - Disney Springs

Looking for a quick lunch option we decided to try Earl of Sandwich. The line was so long I was almost dissuaded but they were very organized and efficient so I didn't have to wait too long.

The sandwich was on par with other locations and they kept the tables and drink machines clean so that's a plus.

Gaston's Tavern - Walt Disney World

Gaston's Tavern has taken the protein game to the next level. Pork shank. Just do it. Disney food is often disappointing and overpriced but this is one of the better deals at Magic Kingdom park. Located in Fantasyland. My fella and I are able to easily share the pork shank. Plenty for both us.

Casey's Corner - Walt Disney World

The Mini corn dogs and cotton candy, we decided to try this spot while we were waiting for the Hallow Wishes fireworks during the Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party.

Casey's doesn't have many options but there is a great seating area just outside to view parades and fireworks. The counters were a little grimy and they were slow with orders. We had to wait about 10 minutes for cotton candy.

50's Prime Time Diner - Walt Disney World

I was on the fence about 50's Prime Time Cafe and I don't know why I was so reluctant to try this place. The whole experience was so fun. Everyone at the restaurant treats you like family and its hilarious. Just be sure to keep your elbows off the table.

Our server was so fun and he really kept us on our toes with his quick comebacks and jokes. The food was surprisingly good, too. The food is classic American food from that time period, just be sure to order the classics. I tried the pot roast, fried chicken and meatloaf. All were decent and surprisingly well-priced for the area.

Items sampled: chicken Caesar salad, meatloaf, pot roast and fried chicken

Tangierine Cafe - Walt Disney World

Not great, but not terrible Mediterranean at Epcot World Showcase. My fella and I were scrounging around for a quick bite and decided to try the lamb shawarma. The couscous and and tablouleh were less than stellar but for the price it wasn't bad for Disney food.

Items sampled: lamb shawarma

Cold Stone Creamery - Durango

I don't think I had been to a Cold Stone Creamery in ages, but I received a gift card for my birthday recently and it was time to collect my goodies. We walked in and the guy behind the counter was on it. I was very impressed that he acknowledged everyone who was waiting individually to let them know he would be with them as soon as he could and still took the appropriate amount of time with each customer.

Once it was our time to order, he offered us samples and suggestions. He even provided feedback on a few options as my fella was having a hard time deciding what to order.

We walked out with our delicious creations and a smile on our faces from the excellent customer service interaction we had just had.

Hello Kitty Cafe - Fashion Show Mall

When cuteness calls, I'm here to answer. I have seen Hello Kitty Cafe visit town in the past but I was always reluctant to go, scared off by long lines for mediocre desserts shaped like Hello Kitty. On this most recent visit by Hello Kitty Cafe to Fashion Show Mall in Vegas, my friend and  I arrived around 3pm and were excited to see no line!

I decided on a strawberry lemonade and a box of three donuts. I had to pick the most photogenic and reasonably priced items and was happy with my decision. The doughnuts were adorable and I tried them once at least, but I don't have any reason to go out of my way to try them again. Prices are high, but that's to be expected.
